The Butcher’s on the Block (BOTB) is the brainchild of two professionally trained chefs who wanted to expand their talent beyond the kitchen and take it to the streets, where everyone—regardless of their financial situation or dietary restrictions—could enjoy! The BOTB is committed to providing quality, locally sourced food to the city of Windsor and surrounding areas, and using environmentally conscious packaging. The menu will be updated seasonally, and feature a variety of roasted meat and vegetable sandwiches, soups and salads, and the BOTB signature ice cream sandwich! Vegetarian and gluten free options will also be available.     



Brian John and Andrea Brulé are both classically trained chefs with over 10 years of professional culinary experience.  

In 2009, after two years of studying business marketing at the University of Windsor, Brian changed career paths and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to attend Vancouver Community College and obtain his Red Seal in Cooking. While living out West, Brian cooked in a variety of settings, including fine-dining, pubs, and catering. This experience afforded him the opportunity to apprentice under some of the province’s best chefs and gain unique insights into the culinary industry.

Andrea’s exposure to the food scene started in high school, working part-time as a prep cook in a restaurant in her hometown of Almonte, Ontario (just 30 minutes west of Ottawa). After she graduated, Andrea moved to Toronto to attend George Brown College and receive training in both culinary and pastry arts. While in Toronto, Andrea worked at some of city’s top restaurants and shadowed many great chefs. With over three years of experience cooking in Canada’s largest city and the 2010 Winter Olympics just around the corner, Andrea moved to Vancouver to further pursue her culinary passion and cook for world-class athletes.

It was in Vancouver where Andrea and Brian met and realized their shared passion for cooking. After 2 years together, they decided to bring their relationship to the next level and move to back to Brian’s hometown of Windsor to start a business of their own.

Recognizing the untapped market for mobile food in Windsor, the BOTB was born.
